The Emerald Isle

Better late than never, right? In October I went on a trip to Dublin with a modern Irish literature course I was taking through Uppsala University.

My mom loves Ireland and reading so I decided to invite her along and we added a stop in Belfast to our trip.

In Dublin we toured around, went to the theater and met two of the authors we had read during the term, Dermot Bolger and Eilis ni Dhuibhne. We also had time to eat at a lot of pubs and listen to live music.

In Belfast we went to the Titanic Museum and had high tea in front of the rebuilt famed staircase. We also took a day trip along the Antrim Coast to Giants Causeway stopping along the way at many beautiful sites that also happened to be Game of Thrones filming sites. We also took a black cab tour of the political troubles in Belfast.

I strongly recommend the black cab tour service we used: Belfast Attractions

Here’s some photographic highlights…
